Summer’s Last Roses

August 18, 2010 By Sage 4 Comments

A few roses from my garden…

It’s been raining like crazy these past few days, enough to close the airport, and there’s a definite chill in the air. I hope summer isn’t quite over, I’m not ready for near round the clock darkness and bone chilling cold :(

Hi Sage, I just finished reading your archives. I love the pictures of the roses, are they in your garden?

I’m Danish but live in Keno Oregon. I have been in the US since 1956. My Mom has lived in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark near Copenhagen and I’ve visited several times since she moved back in 1966. It is very expensive for me to travel, but I wish I could go again …

I still speak Danish, but it is the every day language not anything to do with business. I read a few Danish blogs and that has helped me quite a bit. You can do a search for “Danish blogs” and see what you come up with.

Sorry for the long post, but I’m excited to follow you in real time now to see how you are getting along.

Oops, you do state that the roses are in your garden – I may just need another cup of coffee!!

I completely hear you… I’m not looking forward to summer ending. We haven’t had a decent summer (in my opinion!)– not enough good hot days. I don’t want to admit it but I think fall is attempting to creep in. *sigh*

Love your roses! You have a very neat blog- I enjoy reading it.

    Best wishes to you.

Yvette: Thank you so much for commenting and for following my blog! I love Copenhagen and Denmark in general and I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to live here! I start Danish classes on Monday and I hope I can learn. This will be my first foreign language and I hear that Danish does not roll off the English tongue, so we’ll see how it goes :)

Oregon! I’m originally from Connecticut but have been musing about moving to the Pacific Northwest if/when I return to the US.

Angela: Thanks to you as well for following my blog and taking the time to comment. I hope I can continue to interest you with my ramblings :)

    Happy Weekend!

Once upon a time, I had the chance to move to the happiest country in the world!

My restless Aries spirit liked that idea, so I did what any girl in my position would do… I grabbed my cat, booked a one-way ticket to Denmark, and became an expat!
