I’d been wanting to replace the tired 8 year old pink backpack I was using to carry my laptop, etc. to and from the office, but I wasn’t finding anything that seemed worth its price. I don’t place a high priority on work bags, but I was really getting tired of that backpack!
Then one day, I walked downtown during lunch, nipped into a secondhand shop, and found exactly what I needed!
It’s the perfect size to hold my laptop, umbrella, sunglasses, lunch, and wallet. And it only cost 30 kr! (about $5.50)
It doesn’t look as if it’s even been used. I saw these bags all over Thailand and I suspect that someone brought it back from holiday, then decided it was too exotic for domestic use.
Fortunately, I have no qualms about carrying a bag with gold elephants on it everyday, even in subdued Scandinavia :)
What thrifted treasures have you found lately?
WILDSIDE says
This type of frugal post is how I’m sure the search engine said I should check out your blog. I stayed and explored because of Denmark (and your honesty about your experience).
And I’m surprised no one commented on this one! So I will. I’m a plain Jane, but love that bag and say good on you! Haven’t done much shopping lately, tend to avoid it, but I’m sitting here in my new summer Goodwill robe covered in red roses. Now, I love red roses, but had to convince myself to buy such a flamboyant robe that the neighbors will see as I run out to check the chooks! But, at under $5… It (& roses) has grown on me!
Love that bag!
