I’ve always taken excellent care of my skin and most people are surprised to find out that I’m 40. I’ve worn sunscreen everyday since my late teens, I don’t sunbathe, I always wear sunglasses outside during the day, I do facial exercises, use my LightStim religiously, I have monthly facials, and I invest quite a bit in skincare products.
So I was psyched when Oz Naturals asked me to review their Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which they tout as “The Best Hyaluronic Acid Serum For Skin.” Hyaluronic acid is a well known anti-aging ingredient and it’s an ingredient I’ve been curious about, but haven’t tried.
OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review
OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum has quite a bit going for it… it’s cruelty free and vegan, 92% natural, 72% organic, paraben free, it’s reasonably priced at around $15.00 for a one ounce bottle on Amazon, and the reviews are stellar.
It obviously contains Hyaluronic acid, which boosts moisture and reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and it also contains Vitamin C. I’ve been making and using my own Vitamin C serum for years to fight free radicals.
It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper, which is great because it’s easy to get just the amount I need… pump dispensers and I have a troubled relationship. The serum is a lovely consistency; thick but not too thick, so it absorbs quickly. And it has a slight rose scent, which is lovely.
I’ve been using it twice a day for two weeks now, applying a thin layer of serum over my face and neck, letting it dry, then applying my day or night cream over it. In the evening, I use it with my LightStim.
OZ Naturals guarantees that the serum will ‘give you that dewy, moisture boost needed to achieve that youthful glow & is proven to reduce skin’s fine lines and wrinkles.’
Did OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum deliver?
Well, I don’t actually have much in the way of wrinkles… or fine lines for that matter. The other day, a friend said to me out of the blue, “you don’t have any sign of crow’s feet.” Looks like those Chanel sunglasses were a wise investment : -)
Having a sun worshipping grandmother who looks like a Shar Pei, I’ve always believed that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure where skincare is involved, and it’s definitely paying off.
I’m much more concerned with sagging than wrinkling, and since some of the Amazon reviews were touting this product as a ‘facelift in a bottle’ I had high hopes for it, but hyaluronic acid is an anti-wrinkle product, not a firming product, so that actually doesn’t make any sense.
Anyway, I do have one fine line on my forehead which showed up when I was 28 and has led to my full on battle against the visible signs of aging. OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum hasn’t made any improvement to that stupid line.
However, OZ Naturals have in a way turned back the clock because a few days after I started using the serum, I started getting pimples and clogged pores, which are something I haven’t had in years! My skin is a mess… thank goodness I’m having a facial next week.
The bottom line on OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum
For $15.79, the stakes aren’t very high. If you’re prone to dry skin and actually have fine lines and wrinkles, OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Serum is a pleasant and affordable product that could be worth a try.
If however, you have normal to oily skin and not much in the way of fine lines or wrinkles, it might do more harm than good.

I’ll give it a try. Love when you recommend products. Thanks!

Thanks Michele! To be clear, I’m not exactly recommending it, it made a mess of my skin. I’m just sharing my experience after trying it, hope it works for you :)

I am a big fan of Hyaluronic Acid Serum and all things skincare. I’m running low on my serums now I love the fact that this also has the added Vitamin C. Sucks that it didn’t work out for you, but I do have dry skin and being in my 30s now I’m very proactive at anti aging.
Sage says
You’re doing something right, you have beautiful skin :)

I have never used a hyaluronic acid product before so reading about it is really interesting. At my age, I do have great concerns about caring for my skin as well, I try my best to protect it from the sun, and always wear sunglasses outside and limit UV exposure.
Sage says
I love my skincare products and gadgets, but I think limiting UV exposure is the best anti-aging measure available. I can definitely see a difference between my face and neck, and my shoulders. I wish I’d paid more attention to my shoulders on all of those top-down convertible days.

You look 20 years younger! I’m in my 20s and have a skin care regime as well. I don’t sunbathe, I use foundation with SPF, and I use moisturizer. This looks like a great product to add to it!
Sage says
Wow… thanks, Chasity! Kudos to you for starting a skincare program so young, it will pay off :)

i got really excited about this product as I too have heard great things about it. So glad I read your review my skin will also break out when it does not like a product. For someone like you who doesn’t have that issue tells me that I would most likely break out from this product.

I have a love/hate relationship with new skincare products. I’m always so full of anticipation when trying a new one, but apprehensive at the same time because I’m 40 and far too old to be dealing with breakouts! This serum has really made a mess of my skin :(
Melissa K says
I wonder if it’s the added Vitamin C that is making you break out? I know when I started using a Vitamin C serum that happened to me.
Sage says
It’s not likely… I’ve been using vitamin c serum for over 6 years with no issues.

You look a lot younger than 40! Staying out of the sun really makes a difference when it comes to aging. I’ve always avoided sunbathing and was the whitest kid in school, but it’s paying off now! I look younger than most of my other peers. It might be a somewhat unrelated question, but what kind of sunscreen do you use? I’m currently struggling to find a good everyday sunscreen that are both kind to my skin and doesn’t leave it looking (and feeling) greasy.
Sage says
Thanks :) I was raised by the Shar Pei grandmother, who insisted I tan growing up, I’d probably look even younger if not for that.
I like Olay Essentials Day Fluid with SPF 15. If my skin dries out, particularly in the winter because of the wind and artificial heat, I use Boots Perfect and Protect Day Cream with SPF 15. In either case, I wear a BB Cream with an additional SPF 15 on top.
I’d like an even higher SPF, but like you, I found that all of the ones I tried felt heavy and greasy. So, I’ve settled on the 15, and do my best to stay out of direct sun. Fortunately (or unfortunately) it’s not much of an issue in Denmark.

It’s good for a sun-lizard like me to know there are products out there that might help me out later in life! You review was really clear and concise. I enjoyed reading it :)

I really appreciate your honest opinion. I appreciate that you shared how your experience was. I am always hesitant to try products because I don’t want them to make a mess of my sensitive skin. I am sorry it made a mess of your skin :(

I must have been living under a rock for some years because I have never heard of Hyaluronic Acid Serum and that maybe because I am not of the age to worry about wrinkles. It is great to know that there are reasonable priced products out there to help women to age gracefully.

I have been heating wondeful things about this Oz Naturals lines. Most of the time when you find a product that is Vegan and Cruelty-free it costs an arm and a leg. I did a check on these and they are very affordable. I just turned 40 and have a few tiny wrinkles. So, its just about the right time for me to try something like this.

Your experience is good to know. I have such sensitive skin and most things just break me out. I’ve seen people praise this hyalauronic acid, but the reviews I’ve read have been quite similar to yours.
Becca says
I purchased this serum through ipsy (one of their daily deals) at a discount. I had the exact same result. My skin broke out in horrible little pimples all over my face. I NEVER have breakouts! I’m so sad it didn’t work for me! The majority of their reviews on Amazon are from customers who received the product free of charge. I’m not sure what ingredient is causing the breakouts, but be cautious if you have sensitive skin.

Hello, I really liked your honest review. Thank you for sharing. I am interested in the facial exercises you have done. You look fantastic. There are so many facial exercises out there, I’d like to know what works.
Sage says
Thank you :)
I use Carole Maggio’s Ultimate Facercise. I think Ultimate Facercise is a good program for prevention, and for correcting minor sagging.
If you need something more advanced, then I’d recommend FlexEffect. I’ll eventually move over to FlexEffect, but I think it’s overkill for me right now.
If you want to try Facercise before you invest in it, Carole’s previous program is on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fKahwV6vXU
It’s quite similar to Ultimate Facercise, but I find Ultimate Facercise to be slightly more effective.
