Almost a year ago, I wrote a another review of SmartBuyGlasses, which turned out to be one of my most popular blog posts.
I don’t write many reviews, but when SmartBuyGlasses contacted me a few weeks ago to offer me yet another pair of designer sunglasses in exchange for a SmartBuyGlasses review, of course I said, “yes, please!” Who wouldn’t?
I’m usually pretty conservative in my choice of sunglasses, choosing classic “Jackie-O” styles. This time, I chose a bold pair of Dolce & Gabbana shades in gold! I had them with me in Amsterdam the other week and barely got to wear them all weekend because Vicky’s daughter and her friend kept “borrowing” them!
SmartBuyGlasses Review: Are they counterfeit?
In an attempt to clarify once and for all whether SmartBuyGlasses sells counterfeit sunglasses, I brought the sunglasses into Dolce & Gabbana on P.C. Hooftstraat (Amsterdam’s luxury shopping street) to have them authenticated. The verdict is that the glasses are in fact authentic.
They currently sell for $237 (down from $316) and are also available in gold with red lenses, and in black with grey lenses.
Best Price Guarantee
I’ve also been luxury lusting after a pair of Prada Minimal Baroque sunglasses, so I thought I’d give SmartBuyGlasses a try as a civilian and see if I was treated any differently when there wasn’t an explicit SmartBuyGlasses review at stake.
I love luxury goods, but true to my frugal ways, I like to find the best possible price. I found the Pradas selling online for €118, which was quite a bit less than the €186.95 that SmartBuyGlasses was asking. SmartBuyGlasses has a “Best Price Guarantee” so I put it to the test, contacting them over chat. The price difference was over the usual limit, so it needed special approval, but they got back to me the next day saying that the price match had been approved!
In contrast, Shade Station would not honor their supposed “Price Match on All Products” because they “don’t understand how the shop can sell for that price.” Not my circus, not my monkey. I was asking them to price match a authorized Prada dealer with a 4 star TrustPilot rating, so it’s not like I was asking them to match a shady AliExpress link. Bullet dodged.
I ordered my Prada sunglasses from SmartBuyGlasses on Saturday and they were delivered about three days later. They’re beautiful, authentic, and were one hell of a deal!
So, that’s three for three in favor of SmartBuyGlasses. I hope you’ve found this SmartBuyGlasses review helpful :)
Disclosure: I received a pair of sunglasses from SmartBuyGlasses in exchange for an honest review. I didn’t receive any compensation for this post and all opinions are my own.

Oh, I have never heard of Smart Buy glasses! We all wear glasses at our house so this looks to be a great way for us to save some money! Thanks for sharing. I am sure to check them out now.

I haven’t heard of this website, but you bet I’ll be checking them out soon! I too am frugal with my purchases. And I’m impressed that you had your sunglasses authenticated, now I feel like I can trust them too.

I love designer sunglasses but can definitely never afford them. This sounds like a great way to get a deal on them!

I think it’s amazing that you took the time to autheticate the glasses. It just shows how good their deals are especially when other companies won’t price match.

Oh my goodness that is an amazing deal. I need new sun glasses. Mine break because I am too hard on them. Clearly if I had a really great pair I’d take better care of them and they’d last. Love the cute designer styles. Can’t believe that they are authentic. AMAZING.

I usually buy the generic dollar store sunglasses since I tend to lose mine frequently. However, I love that I can find a better price for the high-quality sunglasses. This would be a perfect way to buy my husband a quality pair.

This luxury purchase not at all in my league tho’ I could now afford, but am still making this comment because I have affinity for Sage’s blog despite of our differences because I’m curious — and also because of her past brutal honesty about how life is where she is and because I also so very recently discovered that I am one who already has cataracts at too young an age due to my upbringing of being outside by choice for adventure time on mountainous sun-reflecting snow & glaciers & but even more so from the full time unpaid “slave labor” that I did all day-long all my life all in farm fields summer & winter — except for the restriction of office cubicle life of JOBs & time inside for schooling which while good at it, I hated. OK, so this just said would probably be of no surprise to anyone else. BUT to those of you who care about your future & eyesight for the long term, please make sure those fancy sunglasses will totally protect your eyes with the right type of lenses and ray screening! LOL?!? May be not? OK, not. Thanking you again, Sage, for earning your name! :-)
