Alas! We will not be impressing our neighbors with a fancy TV delivery. With a $90 part, Jeff was able to fix our behemoth of a television in under half an hour. The convergence amp was dead, so he replaced the convergence board and now the picture is good as new! Sure beats plunking down… Continue Reading
I often wear a t-shirt that says, “kill your television”. In a tongue-in-cheek way, it makes sense. We haven’t subscribed to cable since 1998 or so, and that’s how I manage to do crazy time consuming things like gardening, sewing, reading, exercising, blogging, cooking from scratch, taking classes, etc. It’s also how I manage to… Continue Reading
Most of my garden has been planted. I still have some transplanting and bed building to do, but considering that we’re not even a week out from the last frost date, I’m in pretty good shape. Between March 18 and April 16, we used 126 kWh, and generated 80 kWh. So, in 1 month,… Continue Reading
Here are a couple of brand new shots of my seedlings…I took them tonight! You can see the glow of the grow light off to the left. I’ve up-planted 60 seedlings to larger pots. There are still a good number in the bio dome, and I’ve started a second round. They’re getting about 12 hours… Continue Reading
The other night, relaxing in my favorite pink Victoria’s Secret yoga PJs (bought on clearance, of course!), I felt something crawling on my shoulder. I brushed it away, but didn’t see anything. Convinced that I wasn’t imagining things, and determined to find the creepy crawly critter that had taken up residence, I promptly tore off… Continue Reading
