I’m Sage—creator of this childfree blog. I’m a “Lady No-Kids” who followed the goose from Connecticut to Europe and created the life I’ve always wanted!
In 2010, I scored my dream job and the chance to move abroad. Rural Denmark wasn’t my first choice—but I’m a restless Aries. So, I packed my favorite things into a shipping container, grabbed my faithful feline companion, Opie, and followed the goose across the Atlantic to see if Denmark really is the happiest country in the world.
I wrote about it—then InterNations and ExpatsBlog recognized Sage & Simple as Denmark’s Top Expat Living Blog!
I eventually followed the goose right out of corporate life into freelancing. Since then, I’ve been working as a copywriter and editor for some of the world’s biggest brands—and a handful of passion clients.
After ditching my commute, I also ditched the countryside and moved to Aarhus—Denmark’s cultural capital and second-largest city. When I decided to make this sojourn more permanent, I bought myself a quirky old apartment in the city centre (yes, the bathroom really is in the back stairway).
In 2018, I decided to stop blogging and follow the goose on the DL. I’ve had a lot of adventures since then, and now the goose has led me back to Sage & Simple.
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.
~ Henry David Thoreau
The “goose” isn’t about lacking direction or purpose. It’s about being free to explore (or not explore) opportunities as they come along—living the fullest life possible on my terms, without worrying about anyone else.
A Childfree Blog – Advertising and Sponsorships
Sage & Simple is a childfree blog written by a childfree American expat living in Denmark. It focuses on life as a childfree woman, simple living, vegetarian cooking, and my experience of living in Denmark as a foreigner.
Sage & Simple isn’t the biggest or most well-known blog, but it has a consistently high level of engagement among its readers and social media followers—and it’s been named Denmark’s Top Expat Living Blog by InterNations and ExpatsBlog.
It’s well-known that childfree people often have more disposable income than most ;)
